Clean Meat

Telling billions of people they shouldn’t eat meat, or should eat considerably less is an uphill battle. Many people, across the globe want to be able to enjoy meat and afford to do so.

Clean meat provides a viable alternative alongside traditionally produced meat. It will be more accessible (it can be produced within, or very close to cities), healthier1 (it contains more nutrients, less fats and doesn't require any hormones or antibiotics to enable it to grow quickly) and it will have the same taste and texture as ‘real meat’ – because it is still meat – it’s just grown outside of the animal.

Last month, Israeli food-tech startup SuperMeat opened a test kitchen in Tel Aviv to premier its cultured chicken burgers2. They claim this to be the world’s first consumer experience of its kind...

If we can get our heads around this and put the 'yuk factor' to one side, this radical innovation could be an absolute game-changer.
